English Grammar

Don't run away! It won't hurt you! It's only grammar. Breathe in. Relax. I know that many people hate learning grammar. They hated it when they were young, and they don't like it in college. Nevertheless, even though public schools do not teach grammar as actively as they once did, grammar is still extremely important to understand and appreciate. If you are planning to go into marketing, law, medicine, humanities, science, and many other fields, you will need to have strong oral and written skills in English.

This site will help you become an English survivor and will increase your chances of  doing well in school and at work. Study each of the links in this category and you will increase your knowledge and confidence, and you will no longer feel like you have to protect yourself.

English is a very fascinating and sometimes confusing language, particularly for foreign students. Therefore, a brief look at its history can be informative. Many students who are native speakers of English often realize similarities to Latin they learned in school; foreign students - particularly speakers of Spanish, French, Italian, and Romanian- see similarities to English.  This is not surprising when we look at the origins of English.

the Romance languages.

Imagine it. English is the product of Roman orators and Saxon warriors. Throughout this
