Synthesizing and Paraphrasing
Two very important elements of any research work are synthesizing and paraphrasing information. What is synthesizing? Well, it is combining material from various sources into one document, mainly your research paper.
Paraphrasing, as you probably know, is the use of your own words to share what you have heard or read from others. It is a good life-saving practice to never plagiarize--copy--anyone else's work. Always give credit for your information, and use your own words and sentence structure as much as you can.
To make your life a little easier, I made a video in which I look at two online articles on gun control. The articles represent very different views. The video will show you how to collect information from the sites, combine and paraphrase the information, and create a Works Cited page in MLA 8 format that cites the two web pages. I hope this helps you.
